Meet the Staff - Ruth Taylor
Ruth is happy when she's climbing, and preferably in the sunshine! She has been climbing for 15 years. Growing up in the Peak District she started climbing traditionally on the single pitch outcrops but her sense of adventure soon saw her heading out to the mountains and sea cliffs around the UK.
Since then she has travelled all over to find new climbing experiences. Climbing trad in Australia and the USA, sport climbing in Europe and Thailand, having adventures in South Africa and deep water soloing in Mallorca, Spain, the UK and Portugal which has also included some new routes. Ruth enjoys all forms of climbing (even ice!) but is at her best trad climbing where it is technique and a cool head that are required not just power.
She has been instructing for 10 years and holds the MIA Award.
"I really enjoy taking people out whether as a first experience or to improve their skills - it gives me great satisfaction to see the smiles at the end of a good day."
