Option 1 - Self Catering Apartments
Included in the standard price you'll be staying in self catering apartments in the small costal town of Calpe. You will be perfectly situated for Costa Blanca climbing and have a wide range of shops and restaurants at hand.
The apartments are modern, clean and secure with a fully equipped kitchen, linen, balcony and use of a pool.

Option 2 - Rural B&B Accommodation
Our beautiful casa rural situated in the traditional spanish village of Alcalali in the Jalon Valley, gives you Bed and Breakfast accommodation. All the rooms are beautifully individually designed with a modern but rustic spanish feel and all have en-suite bathrooms. You'll be served with
a full continental style breakfast and given a packed lunch for the day. There is a good selection of Spanish restaurants and tapas bars in the village. For this option there is a supplement of £99 based on 2 people sharing a room. Single room supplement is also available, please Contact us for more information.

What to Bring
You will need to bring:
• Passport, E111, Travel insurance documents (see below)
• Rock boots/ Climbing Shoes - Comfortable fit
• Trainers or approach shoes suitable for walking in
• Warm fleece
• Waterproof jacket & trousers
• Small day rucksack
• Long trousers & shorts suitable for climbing in
• Warm jacket as evenings can get chilly
• Any personal climbing equipment you wish to use
• Camera
• Swim wear
• Sun cream, hat & glasses • Head torch and spare batteries & bulb
Recommended climbing equipment:
• Belay device
• 4x screw gate krabs
• 1x HMS krab (pear shape)
• Prussik loops 3x 6mm cord 1.5 metres long
• 1x 60 cm sling for a 'cows tail'
• 1x 120cm sling
• Harness
• Helmet
• Nut Key
Any of the above 'recommended climbing equipment' can be supplied by Rock and Sun at no extra cost. Please let us know before the week if you need to borrow anything.

Insurance
Please ensure you have up to date travel & activity insurance, to cover rock climbing. You will need to send details of this to us before you travel and bring a copy with you. We will be unable to proceed with the course/holiday with out it.
We recommend sports cover direct for your holiday travel insurance.
Flights & Arrivals
Fly to Alicante Airport, or by prior arrangement you can fly to Valencia (additional surcharge for valencia airport transfers), Spain.
We recommend Easy Jet or Ryan Air for your flights.
For a week holiday you need to arrive on the Saturday (anytime), you'll climb Sunday - Friday inclusive and depart on the Saturday.
NB Airport transfers:
Airport transfers are free on a Saturday. Transfers can be arranged, subject to availability, on alternative days for an additional charge. There occasionally may be a short wait at the airport depending on transfers of the day.
When you arrive at the airport we will be waiting for you in the arrivals hall holding a Rock & Sun card with your name on, we will then take you to your apartment.
When you arrive
On the first day there will be a welcome meeting where you will be given a Welcome Pack which will include some helpful information about the area and the week ahead. You will be introduced to an instructor who will talk to you in more detail about what you want and the week's activities.
We do not have a set itinerary as the content is designed to suit you, however the first day is usually held at Toix, Calpe and consists of an overview and discussion of techniques used in single pitch sports climbing. An easy route day! From then on there are numerous crags to suit all abilities and desires, plenty to choose from.
Preparation
The holiday is tailored to suit your requirements, so there is no need for any specific preparation. Activities will be geared towards your individual abilities. If you would like advice on training before the holiday please feel free to contact us.
How to Book
1. Visit our bookings page, fill in the online booking request form or contact us to check availability.
2. Once availability has been confirmed please fill in a booking form and send with payment for 50% of the course fee to secure your place.
3. Payment can be made by cheque, credit card or direct transfer (please contact us for account details.) Please note a 4% surcharge is due on all credit card transactions.
5. Buy your flights and insurance and email us these details.
4. Confirmation & Joining details will be sent to you on receipt of deposit and booking form. |
