Corporate Training & Executive Development

Our Executive Development Team Building course is aimed at corporate companies looking to develop and nurture the performance of their executive personnel. The courses use new and invigorating peak performance techniques (including some developed for training Army personnel) to help people overcome a wide range of confrontations. Courses are bespokely designed specifically for each group's objectives.

The team building courses are held at a truly inspiring location in the Vall de Lagaurt, Costa Blanca, Spain, surrounded by mountains and deep gorges. The last stronghold of the Moors until 1609, it's a place where time almost stands still.

Participants are based at the Hotel Alahuar, situated in the heart of the Vall de Lagaurt, some 550m above sea-level just outside the rural village of Benimaurell. Surrounded by magnificent mountain scenery and with views of the sea, the hotel offers a comfortable, relaxing environment and excellent local cuisine. All rooms have individual features with panoramic views.

Using this inspirational environment, the team building courses are designed to be:

  • A stimulating physical and mental challenge away from the normal working environment
  • A dynamic form of team bonding, and team building
  • A creative way of developing self-esteem and leadership skills
  • A boost to a company's business through the increased effectiveness of teams and individuals

Specifically, each course aims (on a group level) to re-invigorate, by addressing:

  • Lack of incentive to take on new challenges
  • Loss of effective teamwork and team-building
  • Tasks taking much longer to complete than in the past / reduced time efficiency for task completion

And, on an individual level:

  • Raise personal confidence
  • Eliminate fear of failure
  • Nurture positive thinking
  • Encourage a lateral approach to problem solving

Executive Development Course Sample Programme

"Only the unknown frightens men. But once man has faced the unknown, that terror becomes the known."
Antoine de Saint - Ecupeiry

Introduction

The 3 day Executive Development course is designed around the parameters laid down by the client company.

Aim

The aim of the course will be to develop the follow -

  • Teamwork - TW
  • Trust - T
  • Initiative -I
  • Personal confidence – PC
  • Command and control -CC
Execution

Short single pitch rock climbs and abseiling will be used to develop PC and T.

Command tasks will be used to develop CC, TW and I.

Test exercise will be used to embrace all five parts of the aim.

Programming

It is important that the execution is completed in the order as listed in the execution.

The first part allows individuals to improve the confidence in their own ability and to face difficult and challenging situations, whilst having to trust the person holding the rope or instructing them.

The second part encourages individuals to think quickly, organise a group to achieve completing the task both as a leader and as part of a team. It also helps with thinking through problem solving outside of traditional or fixed ways. Using the strengths of individuals in the team rather than looking at weaknesses.

The third and final part encompasses the completion of an exercise involving two teams competing to complete a series of problems in an imaginary company. The client company director my wish to nominate individuals to be the group leaders, however, as many as possible will be given a chance to take the lead and control the groups. The problems will be fast and furious requiring quick group consultation, decisions and good management of limited resources.

Accommodation

The Alahuar Hotel situated high in the Vall De Laguart, as it is close to all activities. Has rooms that can be used for briefings etc and is away from the tourist scene of the coast. It has a very good restaurant capable of seating everyone as one group and is reasonably priced.

Transport

All transport is provided by Rock & Sun, this is typically a series of mini-busses and will be suitable for the group size and requirments.

Clothing and Equipment

Light weight cotton trousers, shorts, trainers, t-shirts, small rucksack to hold water bottle, sun screen, hand towel. Light weight fleece or sweater. Swimming trunks/suit. Sun hat.

Summary

On completion of the course, individuals will leave with a heightened perception of what they can achieve. They will have learnt how to cope with fear, how to be an effective team member, what is required of a team leader in terms of leadership by example and effective use of resources, both human and material.

Only by experiencing something new and challenging can an individual develop the mental skills to deal effectively with what life and business can throw at them.
